Impacts of Gender Equality
Empowering all girls and women and achieving gender equality is one of the industry matrix’s significant SDGs. Some of the key organizations leading by example in terms of this SDG are Unilever, Nestle, Walmart, ASDA, Kellogg Company, Cargill, and the Coca-Cola Company.
Some of the opportunities that have been gained through this SDG for shared value purposes are increased investment in programs and policies that support females in the workforce and enhance the share of females in senior roles and boards of companies. Moreover, it has established mentor and peer networks through which women entrepreneurs can be empowered.
In addition, advertising campaigns were adapted to promote the empowerment of girls and women and a healthy image of the body while strengthening customer relationships. The inclusion of females in cocoa farming has also had a positive impact on the nation as a whole, the communities around it, and the families.
Both negative and positive impacts have been found in the environment and society concerning gender equality. Human well-being is influenced positively by gender equality.
Gender inequality leads to an unfair distribution of resources among the people. The minority group faces economic issues and decreased earnings due to gender inequality. Gender equality also imposes a negative impact on the status of females within society. It decreases their role in considering household decisions and lessens their self-dependence.
